Travel by Road
Road travel around Central Scotland couldn't be simpler from our Hamilton hotel. With the M74, M8, M77 and M73 all within easy reach. Glasgow, Motherwell and East Kilbride in particular are easy to reach.
Travel by Rail
There are two train stations in Hamilton, West and Central. Holiday Inn Express Hamilton is just a few minutes walk away from Hamilton Central Station. Trains run in both directions between here and Glasgow Central Station approximately every half an hour from 0600 hrs until close to midnight all week. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

Directions from Airport: Take M8 towards Glasgow. At Junction 22 take the signs for Carlisle M74. Stay on M74 tand exit M74 at Junction 6, follow signs for Hamilton as road splits. The hotel is directly in front of you at first roundabout, quarter of a mile from motorway. Parking is down to the right of the hotel in front of Vue cinema.
Edinburgh International Airport
Approximate time by car/taxi: 50 minutes
Directions from Airport: From the airport, take M8 towards Glasgow, exiting at Junction 7 for M73/M74. Follow M73 for 1 junction, take M74 south towards Carlisle, then exit M74 at Junction 6 for Hamilton - the hotel is right in front of you at roundabout after quarter of a mile. Free car parking is available down to the right of the hotel.
Prestwick International Airport
Distance: 43.1 miles
Time by car/taxi: 50 minutes
Directions from Airport: From the airport, take A77 to the M77 East Ayrshire. Follow the M77 and M74 to Motherwell Rd/ A723 in South Lanarkshire. Exit M74 at Junction 6 for Hamilton - the hotel is right in front of you at roundabout after quarter of a mile. Free car parking is available down to the right of the hotel.
Travel by Sea
Sea ferry access to Ireland is available via Stranraer on Scotland’s west coast, which is within about 1 hr 30 minutes drive. Alternatively, the new ferry terminal at Rosyth is just over an hour away, providing services directly to Zeebrugge in Belgium.
